Get a quote and sell

Pick a share and a term, sign a request, check the firm quote and take the USDC.

Selling takes three signatures' worth of attention: one to ask for a firm quote, a look at what your browser checked, and one to accept. The whole exchange takes under a minute.

Choose your terms

On the source's page in the app, the stream at the top is the control. Drag the divider, or use the rulers below it:

  • Share: how much of each fee goes to the vault while the stream runs, up to 50%.
  • Term: how long the vault's share lasts, from one to thirty days.

The price next to the stream updates as you move. It's a preview of what Flume would pay right now; it reserves nothing.

If there's no price, the Before a quote checklist says why and, when it's a matter of time, the date and hour quotes open.

What sets the price

The price is a quarter of your share of the last seven days of USDC fees, run across the term. The vault's limits can only lower it. How this price is set on the source's page shows each limit and marks the one that set the price. See Pricing for the full rule.

The vault's share stops at its cap, which is twice the price, or at the end of the term, whichever comes first.

Sell

  1. Ask for a firm quote

Press Get a firm quote. Your wallet asks you to sign a short message naming the source, you, the share, the term, the vault and the time. It's a message, not a transaction: signing it can't move funds.

  2. Read the checks

Flume answers with a firm quote: a purchase transaction that the vault's quote key has already signed. Your browser decodes it and lists what it checked. If anything doesn't match what you asked for, the app tells you not to sign. See Quote checks.

  3. Accept within two minutes

A firm quote is good for 120 seconds, shown as a countdown. Press Accept, which shows the amount you'll receive, and sign the transaction. When it confirms, the USDC is in your wallet and the stream is open.

If the quote runs out, ask again. While a quote is live, asking for the same terms hands back that same quote, and asking for different terms waits until it lapses, two minutes after it was issued.

Before you can sell

  • One stream at a time. A source with an open stream can't sell again until that stream is settled.
  • A USDC account. The price is paid to your wallet's USDC account. If you don't have one, the checklist offers to create it.
  • SOL for fees. You pay the transaction fee for the purchase.
