Pay fees in
How fees reach a source, how each payment is split, and what counts toward a quote.
A source only receives what someone pays into it. You claim your token's fees wherever your launchpad or pool pays them, then pay them into the source through Flume. That payment is what the vault buys a share of, and the history of those payments is what Flume prices from.
Pay in
Open the source
In the app, open the source from Your fee sources.
Choose USDC or SOL and an amount
Under Pay fees in, pick the currency and enter the amount. The card shows how the payment will split: what goes to the vault and what stays with you.
Sign
Your wallet signs a transfer from your wallet into the source. The split happens in that same transaction.
Anyone can pay into any source, not only its creator. The payer signs, and the program records who paid, how much and when.
How a payment splits
While a stream is open, each payment is split at the moment it lands, using the time of the transaction that carries it:
A 1,000 USDC payment while a 30% stream is open
- 700 USDC
- Stays in the source for you to claim
- 300 USDC
- Goes to the vault’s cash in the same transaction
- USDC. The vault's share moves straight to the vault's cash, up to whatever is left of its cap. Your part stays in the source's fee account until you claim it.
- SOL. The lamports stay in the source account, and the program records how many belong to you and how many to the vault. The vault's SOL is later sold for USDC; see Fees paid in SOL.
Rounding always favors you: any fraction of a unit left by the split goes to the creator. With no stream open, or once the term has ended or the cap is reached, every payment is entirely yours.
What counts toward a quote
Flume prices a stream from the USDC paid into the source over the last seven days. To be quoted, a source needs:
- seven full days on record since it was registered, and
- USDC fees on at least four of those seven days, counted in UTC.
SOL payments are split the same way but count as zero in that history, because their USDC value isn't known until they're sold.
Next
Once the source has a week of history, see Get a quote and sell.
